Cats are definitely unique. These little furballs may be small, but they have big personalities, and they are full of cute—and often hilarious—quirks. Although kitties can be adorably silly at times, there are actually quite a few things that they take very, very seriously. Their Beauty Regimens
Kitties are very clean, and always want to look their best. Fluffy may spend hours every day carefully grooming herself, and making sure that her pretty fur stays soft and shiny. (It’s worth noting that baths are also a very serious topic to our feline overlords. In fact, some kitties may take being bathed a little too seriously!)
Emergency Naps
Cats are quite drowsy, for some reason. Fluffy can sleep, on average, at least 16 hours a day. However, certain situations call for emergency naps. These include encounters with sunbeams, empty laps, and empty boxes. Rainy days also necessitate extra sleep. Occasionally, Fluffy may also be forced to take additional naps on days that have the letter S in them, or at times when the hour is an even number.
Second Breakfast
Nutrition is definitely something cats take seriously. Fluffy is very particular about her food. She’s also a big fan of the second breakfast!
First Impressions
As the saying says, you never get a second chance to make a first impression. This is definitely true about kitties. For instance, if you bring a second feline into your home, and things don’t go well when Fluffy and Mittens meet, it could take months to undo the damage.
Hunting
Fluffy’s dedication to hunting was likely the reason we domesticated cats –or, perhaps, started working for them—in the first place. It’s important to note that kitties make little distinction between live prey and inanimate objects. While barn cats and strays may focus on hunting mice and other small animals, your housecat may be completely driven to catch the pesky red dot from a laser pointer.
Of course, there are also things that cats just don’t care about at all. This includes your sleep schedule, your rules (like not getting on the counter), and etiquette about grooming oneself in front of company.
